What is ADHD & Executive Function Coaching?

You know yourself and your family better than anyone else! ADHD & EF Coaching is a specialized form of coaching that combines the coach’s knowledge of ADHD, Executive Functions, and the coaching process with YOUR unique knowledge of YOU, your spouse, your children, your job, and your community.

ADHD & Executive Function Coaching focuses on exploring the areas of your life that you want to be different. You will custom design a coaching program, including education about the specific ADHD & EF struggles you want to focus on, discussion about solutions for those struggles that work with the ADHD brain, and planning for the changes you want to implement. As part of the coaching partnership, you will explore your own strengths, core values, and the mindsets that affect your everyday thinking. Then, with all of this in mind, you will identify, strategize, and begin moving forward to accomplish your personal goals for yourself, your family, your career, and your relationships!

“I don’t see [ADHD] as a disorder. I see it as a trait. If you manage it right…if you unwrap the gift…then it becomes an asset.”

“I still suffer the consequences [of ADHD] of forgetting something, overlooking something, saying something…I still am somewhat hurt by my ADHD. But way more am I helped by it. So the positives…the creativity, the energy, the intuition, the dreamer, the visionary…all of that stuff figures in my life way more prominently.” - Dr. E. Hallowell, Embracing ADHD: Thriving with Your Unique Mind

What is ADHD?

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a medical condition caused by differences in brain structure, function, and chemistry.  Symptoms that begin in childhood and change with age uniquely affect the mind and body.  People with ADHD commonly experience challenges with impulsivity, hyperactivity, and distractibility while also benefiting from strengths in curiosity, creativity, resilience, and hyperfocus.

Behind each ADHD diagnosis is a person, a family, and a community that is impacted by the symptoms of ADHD. Each person with ADHD is unique, and learning how to work with and through the struggles and strengths of ADHD can change your life!

Executive Functions (EF) are the mental processes that help people plan, organize, manage, and regulate their thoughts, actions, and emotions to achieve goals. Executive Function related challenges with motivation, planning, organization, time management, focus, working memory, and emotional regulation are common for people with ADHD. Developing EF skills will help to manage daily activities, adapt to new situations, accomplish personal goals, and lead to academic and personal success!

“We don’t have a deficit of attention…we have an abundance of attention. Our challenge is controlling it.”
